HippotherapyHippotherapy is occupational therapy utilizing equine movement. Our licensed physical therapist and physical therapy assistant combine physical therapy knowledge and techniques utilizing the equine movement and the equine environment to help you/your child reach your physical therapy goals. The horse’s rhythmic, multidimensional movement is used to facilitate improvements in posture, balance, core strength, coordination, gait mechanics, and overall motor control.

Unmounted TherapyUnmounted physical therapy sessions use the barn environment and horse to support functional PT goals without riding. Clients work on balance, strength, coordination, mobility, endurance, and confidence through purposeful activities on the ground alongside and around horses. This approach is ideal for individuals who are over the allowed riding weight limit, have a fear of riding, or benefit more from working on skills at ground level.
