What We Do
At Sundance Circle Hippotherapy we offer physical, occupational, and speech therapy services, including outdoor therapy and hippotherapy. We offer both mounted and unmounted adaptive riding lessons for ages 5 and up. We also offer seasonal social groups for various age groups looking for fun and unique experiences with peers led by our occupational therapist. We have a 3-acre property including outdoor trails and a covered arena. All therapy sessions are one-on-one with a licensed therapist. See our therapy pages below for more details!
We provide individualized treatment plans to help each patient and their family meet their therapeutic goals. We are able to see patients ages 3 years old and up, including adolescents and adults! Each new accomplishment is celebrated alongside the riders, caregivers and family members by our therapists and dedicated volunteers.

Frequently Asked Questions
do you bill therapy/hippotherapy to insurance?
YES! We do bill directly to insurance for Hippotherapy and outdoor therapy similar to traditional therapy does. Our office manager will ask for your insurance prior to starting therapy to go over your specific insurance benefits, as everyone's benefits and insurance coverage for therapies varies. A referral is needed for hippotherapy or outdoor therapy.
Unfortunately, adaptive riding lessons is not covered by any insurance at this time as adaptive riding lessons are a recreational activity based on learning horsemanship and riding skills. No referral is needed for adaptive riding lessons. All adaptive riding lessons are an out-of-pocket expense. However, adaptive riding lessons due qualify for our Sundance Scholarship Program, contact us today to learn more!

Are you in-network with my insurance?
We are currently in-network with the following: Premera, Regence, Coordinated Care, Aetna, Cigna, TriCare, Medicare, Kaiser-First Choice. We DO take all out-of-network insurances as well including Molina, United, Amerigroup, etc. Please inquire about our Sundance Scholarship Program to potentially offset the increased costs associated with out-of-network.

Anyone needing physical, occupational, or speech therapy could benefit from hippotherapy! Some diagnosis that we commonly see include: cerebral palsy, autism, down syndrome, ataxia, sensory integration disorder, developmental delay, traumatic brain injury, ADHD, genetic disorders, stroke patients, and many more! What is the sundance scholarship program?
Thanks to our generous supporters, we are able to offer scholarships to those needing financial assist to participate in hippotherapy, outdoor therapy, or adaptive riding lessons. ALL of our programs qualify for scholarships! Contact us today to learn more about how to apply!
how do we get started?
You can schedule an initial evaluation by clicking the "Schedule Appointment" button here! You can also email us at [email protected] or call/text us at (253)251-9994 to get started. After that our office manager will reach out to walk you through the process to scheduling an initial evaluation. All hippotherapy and outdoor therapy will begin with an initial evaluation with a licensed therapist to assess your child's specific needs and work with you to develop a personalized plan to work towards your/your child's goals. Please wear closed-toed shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.

How old do you have to be? Do you see adults?
Minimum age is 3 years old and up. Yes, we see adults too!
Is there a weight limit?
The weight limit for hippotherapy and mounted adaptive riding lessons is 160lbs. There is no weight limit for outdoor therapy, unmounted adaptive riding lessons, or social groups.
When are treatments offered? Are you open all year?
We are open for sessions Monday through Saturday! Schedules vary depending on therapist availability, so please contact us to find a time that works for you. All sessions are weekly with an assigned time slot determined prior to starting therapy. Yes, we are open all year around! We have a covered arena that is able to protects us from many of the elements of the PNW weather. We suggest wearing layers and dressing appropriately for the weather for maximal comfort throughout the year.
