- Provide therapeutic riding instruction for individuals with disabilities, following individualized treatment plans and PATH Intl./CHA guidelines.
- Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans tailored to each rider's goals and abilities.
- Collaborate with therapists, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care for each rider.
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for both riders and horses.
- Assist in the training and supervision of volunteers.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on therapeutic riding practices.
- Current PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) certification or CHA Instructor of Riders with Disabilities.
- Minimum of two years of experience teaching therapeutic riding.
- Strong understanding of disabilities and their impact on riding skills.
- Excellent horsemanship skills and experience in handling and working with horses.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a commitment to helping individuals with disabilities achieve their goals.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with riders, parents, therapists, and volunteers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Starting pay of $16.28 per hour, with the potential for advancement based on experience and performance.

Speech-Language Pathologist
Summary:
Sundance Circle Hippotherapy is looking to hire a part time speech language pathologist at our facility based in Sumner, WA. Established in 2017 we focus on treatment delivery to both adult and pediatric populations via outdoor therapy and hippotherapy. We have a small team of staff, a herd of eight horses and a well organized team of volunteers.
Although we have an existing patient list, this role has the flexibility for a therapist to proactively build their client list with the support of the Clinical Director, within the capacity of the facility. This role also includes co-treatments with the physical therapy and occupational therapy teams.
The therapist must be passionate about treating patients using non-traditional methods whilst adhering to excellent standards of practice and regulatory requirements. Understanding of the theory of hippotherapy is essential. Knowledge of and experience with horses is advantageous but not essential.
The therapist is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients referred both internally and externally. This includes patient evaluation, development and implementation of an appropriate treatment plan, delivery of treatment services, and comprehensive discharge planning. The therapist functions as an effective team member and contributes to the development and achievement of organizational goals and objectives.

Core Responsibilities:
- Management of patient caseload
- Evaluate, set time-limited attainable goals, and create a treatment plan for each new patient.
- Implement treatment plan and provide regular re-assessments for the purpose of treatment modification, to maximize patients’ potential for functional independence, all in accordance with acceptable practice guidelines and facility policies and procedures.
- Accurately and efficiently document evaluation/treatment notes.
- Manage and maintain waitlists and prospective patients.
- Communicate patient status (e.g., evaluation results, treatment plan, and goals) by providing timely written or verbal communication to physicians and therapy customers (e.g., patients, guardians).
- Consistently establish and maintain effective working relations with patients and family members, facility staff and volunteers.
- Oversee therapy assistants and students.
- Self-monitor workflow to ensure productivity, standards of practice, and regulatory requirements are consistently met.
- Actively participate in program development, performance improvement activities, and community events sponsored by the organization.
- Respond to feedback/concerns in a professional manner that demonstrates effective listening and problem solving skills.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Completed American Hippotherapy Association Treatment Principles Part One.
- Prior experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in an outpatient or pediatric rehabilitation setting.
- Knowledge of developmental milestones, pediatric communication disorders, and therapeutic interventions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of patients and clinical settings.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
- A thorough understanding of the principles and practice of hippotherapy/equine assisted therapy.
- Ability to serve as an advocate for hippotherapy/equine assisted therapy.
- US citizen or valid resident/ work permit.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Assist patients weighing up to 190 lbs. with mounts and dismounts.
- Walk 5-8 miles per day over uneven surfaces.
- Work with arms at shoulder level for up to 30 min 6x/day.
- Must be physically fit with quick reflexes and high level of alertness at all times during treatments involving horses.
- Perform office work as required.
